Cool on audio
Zombies vs. Unicorns by Holly BlackMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I am listening to this right now on audio and it is great. The battle between camp Unicorn and camp Zombie is on with a series of stories that will have you hooked from the start. There is a mix of content, but is more appropriate for older teens.

- I am a book blogger and music reviewer. Reading is a passion for me, as is writing, I am working on my first two YA novels in between working full time and taking care of my husband and furry kids. I am also learning to knit and crochet. Sometimes even with success! This book had projects for everyone. From felting, to regular knitting and crochet, this book has many different styles to inspire you.
Gifted is based on the premise of small, quick gift items and I can think of no other book for some fast holiday knitting or crocheting. The Felted Heart Milagros project on the cover is one of my favorites! The instructions are easy to understand for an intermediate knitter such as myself.
The projects are arranged in two groups. Gifts for the Body focuses on wearable projects. There are scarves, earmuffs, hats and more. Gifts for the Soul has scissor sleeves,a pincushion and adorable crochet flowers.
If you are trying to learn a new technique, this book is for you. The projects are small and portable and work out quickly.
There are recipes from author Mags Kandis and great photographs to inspire you while you knit one of a kind gifts that are sure to delight someone special.

I love this book. The fun started for me last Christmas when I came across The Christmas Cookie Club by Ann Pearlman. It centers around a group of ladies that gather every Christmas season to make and exchange cookies. It sounds perfectly simple, but there are some rules for cookie club hopefuls. The publisher sent me this book in exchange for an honest review and I fell in love with it at first read. The warm of the authors, Ann Pearlman and Marybeth Bayer shines through the whole book.
This companion book to the novel, Christmas Cookie Club, tells you how to start your own cookie club, and a whole book of recipes and suggestions to make your cookie club the best it can be. It made me want to start one right now!
My favorite part of the book are the cookie recipes. Divided into cookie types, the recipes are well thought out and there are so many it will take awhile to possibly run through them all.
An excellent gift for the baker in your household this holiday season, or maybe just an early Christmas gift for yourself!

I have received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Ellie is just your average teenage girl, right? Well up until her 17th birthday she was. Now she is slowly remembering her past lives. She is a demon hunting agent from the angels, set to free the world from reapers often at the cost of her own life. Will, her Guardian, is super hot and Ellie is drawn to him and the secrets of her past lives that she is struggling to remember. Will she discover who she really is before the reapers claim her life once again?
A good read.
