Happy Follow Friday!

Q. In books like the Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series the paranormal creature in question "comes out of the closet" and makes itself known to the world. Which mythical creature do you wish would come out of the closet, for real?

A. Well, I think I would have to say dragons for this one. When I was a kid, I read the Pern series by McCaffrey and fell in love with the idea that dragons could be like horses, but way cooler. They could talk with you, shoot fire and basically be a total part of your life. How much cooler can it get? At one point I actually had to stop reading because it felt like physical pain that I couldn't go and live there. I know, stupid right? Me=hugest book nerd ever. I don't even deny it.

The other answer to this very cool question would be Hell Hounds. In one of the books I am working on, the main character encounters one, but it isn't anything like she thinks. That kind of dog I would love to be real. (My other passion is dogs.)

Excellent question. Now I am going to go work on my story...

Q. Do you have pets?

A. Oh yes. Dogs. I rescue everything, so my furry babies are my life. My husband and I treat them like we would if we had kids. I also have four finches, a fish (Cranky Fish) and Godzilla the lizard.

My best and most wonderful baby is Taddy. He is the cutest thing ever...

Hello everyone and welcome back to another awesome follow Friday.

Q. What are you doing to prepare for an upcoming zombie apocalypse and/or the return of Mel Gibson to the silver screen? (Both of which could be terrifying.)

A. Lots of yellow zingers. Enough said. (What? Haven't you people watched Zombieland?) The shotgun and baseball bat are second priority here. If I am going to have to run for my life, I might as well be carrying a really big box of zingers.

What weird thing would you want to keep with you when the world is taken over by the hordes of undead?

How many books do you read in a week? How many and in what format?

My answer:

I read physical books and e-books. I used to listen to more audio books, but have recently switched back to music. About five a week is my normal average. This week I have done a bit less because of my new job as a music reviewer. If I ever don't fall asleep clutching a book or my iPad, it is a strange event.

Did your college life contribute to what you are doing now?

My answer...No. I was a book lover since I was a kid and that has never changed. I have worked in bookstores since high school and can't see myself doing anything else other than writing. Books are life.
